I think about this because i know it has already being done by the eroge distributor sekai project: they managed to get funds as high as 280k $ regarding the licenses of games suchs as grisaia (which succeded). Making it difficult to achieve by an editor all alone (unless one with a lot of money tries about, which is unlikely). But for it to work, the offer should be very high. The hentai animation market in japan is already not in so good shape nowdays, so i don't think that the studios will turn a blind eye and a deaf hear to a consequent proposition. They sure can have reservations, but if someone could make a more than interesting offer (a very big one) i doubt they will ignore it. Japanese companies are afraid of reverse importation and things, but at the end buisness is buisness. I don't know if it was already talked about, but there is maybe one solution to make it possible: fan funding and things like kickstarter (the type of financing, because kickstarter doesn't allow adult products). I was thinking about how it is difficult to make deals nowdays with japanese studios.
